Born in Autumn of 1966, Mamma Giulietta was lucky to call the beautiful area of Fremantle, Western Australia, her home. She comes from a single parent home dominated by strong independent women. Sadly, with the loss of her Father before she was even a year old, it meant that her Mother needed to be the bread winner, as well as the home maker of the family.
Coming from an Italian background, it’s no surprise she was surrounded by good food constantly. You might wonder where exactly her passion for cooking came from in the first place and the answer is simple…
With the help of her Nonna, Giulietta’s Mother always managed to ensure that her children never missed out on a delicious home cooked meal, filled with nothing but nutrients and the most important ingredient of all… LOVE. It was through necessity, that basic food values needed to be learnt, and goes without saying that her Mother and Nonna were her biggest foodie role models to date.
It was imperative that Giulietta be by their side to help out. From a young age Giulietta was in the kitchen helping prepare meals, learning family recipes and unknowingly, paving the way to find herself where she is today.
You can easily see, Giulietta’s love for home cooking was passed down through the generations of women that raised her, along with the knowledge and skills needed to grow their own home produce. Without her Nonna’s garden, they would never have been able to create the beautiful meals put on their dinner table. Delicious, wholesome and simple. Home grown and home-made has been a way of life in Giulietta’s family since the very start.
The amount of wisdom and list of skills passed onto Mamma Giulietta, when it comes to food and knowing her way around a kitchen, really is too long to delve into…
She only hopes to continue to pass all of this knowledge onto her own children and for it to continue on in generations to come.
Furthermore, Mamma Giulietta wants to share it with as many others as she possibly can, because it really is too good to gate-keep!
